Super Mario Galaxy 63 – A Galaxy-Sized Follow-Up
Super Mario 64 might be finished. The idea behind it isn’t.
After finishing a full Super Mario 64 Randomizer run, I wasn’t ready to leave that structure behind. The levels, the star-based progression, the sense of exploration—it still felt like there was more to do.
So instead of stopping, I’ve taken that idea and moved it into something bigger.
What Is Super Mario Galaxy 63?
Super Mario Galaxy 63 is a ROM hack that rebuilds the structure of Super Mario 64 within the Super Mario Galaxy engine.
It keeps the idea of star collection and familiar progression, but places it inside a completely different movement system, camera style, and world design.
That makes it familiar, but not predictable.
Why This Run
The randomizer proved that Super Mario 64 still holds up, even when everything is moved around. This run takes that one step further by asking a different question:
What happens when the same ideas are rebuilt in a completely different game?
This is not about finishing quickly or playing cleanly. It’s about seeing how far that structure can stretch before it stops feeling familiar.

Where This Leads
This run is not the end point. It’s the middle ground.
Once this is finished, the next step is clear: push further into more demanding Galaxy ROM hacks, and eventually into Kaizo territory.
That’s where the setup gets tested properly.
