Super Mario ROM Hack Archive

Archive Access Point

Familiar worlds. Unfamiliar rules.

This wasn’t supposed to turn into anything organised.
It started as a test. A way to see if older worlds still held up when the rules changed underneath them.
They do. Just not in the way you expect.

Every entry here begins the same way. A known map. A familiar objective. Then something shifts.
Routes change. Safety disappears. What used to be routine becomes something you have to think about again.
That’s where the interest is.

This archive tracks those runs. Not perfect playthroughs. Not speedruns. Just attempts to get through altered versions of games that were never meant to be comfortable in the first place.

Save states exist, but only as a way to hold progress between sessions. They don’t undo mistakes.
If something goes wrong, it stands.

Active Entries

Current routes being tracked through the archive:

Super Mario 64 Randomizer – Survivor Edition

Nothing is where it should be. Progress comes from adapting, not remembering.

The Hostile Castle Protocol: A Super Mario 64 Randomizer Challenge

Danger spawns. Extreme settings. Non-Stop Mode. The castle has stopped cooperating, and every seed is looking for a way to prove it.

Super Mario 74: A Survivor’s Journey

No safety nets. No shortcuts. Every star earned the long way or not at all.

Super Mario Galaxy 63 Hub

Super Mario 64 doesn’t end here. It just gets bigger, stranger, and rebuilt on a galactic scale.

Neo Mario Galaxy – Daredevil Edition

One hit resets everything. No checkpoints. No safety net. Just getting it right, or starting again.

Dolphin Emulator on Steam Deck

The groundwork. Getting the tools running before pushing further.
