There’s been quite a bit of work happening around camp recently, although most of it hasn’t involved surviving hostile environments or narrowly avoiding something trying to kill me.
Instead, I’ve been working on Survivor Incognito itself.
The website has undergone a complete overhaul.
I’ve stripped away a considerable amount of older content, reorganised the sections I’m keeping, and introduced an entirely new appearance. The camp now has its own Wayfinder emblem, a darker survival-inspired design and, hopefully, a much clearer layout.
The aim wasn’t simply to make everything look different. Survivor Incognito has changed considerably since I first started it, and the website needed to reflect that.
A Smaller Camp, But Not a Quieter One
Some of the older survival diaries, challenges, and projects have been retired from the main website.
In their place, I’ve concentrated on the things I want Survivor Incognito to offer going forward.
The Skyrim, The Long Dark and Subnautica hubs remain, alongside the Map Hub, which brings together navigation resources for those games and Alien: Isolation.
The Workshop now provides a central home for The Arbiter of Fate, The Long Dark Randomizer, and practical guides, including getting ProMods running on the Steam Deck.
I’ve also given Retro Reflections, Survivor Reflections, and Camp Updates their own dedicated sections.
Everything is intended to be easier to find without having to navigate through numerous projects that are no longer active.
The Return of Recorded Adventures
There’s another change coming to the website.
I’m bringing my recorded gaming adventures back, but with a much simpler approach than the old survival diaries.
Rather than maintaining lengthy written accounts alongside every recording, I’ll be sharing a short description of what happened and embedding the accompanying YouTube video.
The first new video-focused hub is Metroid, with Metroid Fusion leading the way.
The objective is 100% item completion, with no commentary. The recordings are being scheduled, and new entries will appear on the Metroid Hub, which is scheduled to go live on the 1st November 2026.
I’m also planning dedicated hubs for other games as I work my way through them.
The recordings will still be available through YouTube, with Facebook remaining an important part of how I share my gaming adventures.
Still the same survivor
Despite the changes, the underlying idea behind Survivor Incognito hasn’t gone anywhere.
I’ll still be exploring different games, taking on challenges, revisiting old favourites, sharing my thoughts, and occasionally wondering why I thought something was a sensible idea in the first place.
The tools, guides, maps, and writing will remain freely accessible. Ko-fi, Patreon, and Facebook subscriptions are there for anyone who wishes to offer support, but none of them is required to access the website’s content.
The goal is to keep Survivor Incognito manageable, enjoyable, and useful, both for myself and anyone who happens to wander into camp.
There may be more changes as new projects take shape, but the foundations are now in place.
One Survivor. Many Worlds.
