FIELD NOTES // THE CAMP IS OPENSURVIVING, NOT SUFFERING

Camp Update — The Metroid Hub Has Arrived

There’s a new destination to explore at Survivor Incognito, and this time we’re heading into space.

The Metroid Hub is officially open.

As part of the recent website overhaul, I’ve decided to start giving my recorded gaming adventures their own dedicated homes. Rather than having everything scattered across individual posts, visitors will be able to find recordings organised by game series.

And we’re starting with Metroid.

First Destination: Metroid Fusion

The first adventure to arrive is Metroid Fusion, originally released for the Game Boy Advance.

This time, I’m aiming for 100% item completion, exploring the BSL Research Station while dealing with the creatures, hazards and other problems waiting inside.

The recordings are presented without commentary, allowing the gameplay to speak for itself.

The opening expedition sees me exploring the Main Deck, recovering the Missile upgrade and defeating Arachnus before being directed towards Sector 1.

Of course, there’s considerably more of the station left to explore.

A New Home for Recorded Adventures

The Metroid Hub is part of a broader change to how I’m organising Survivor Incognito.

Rather than returning to the lengthy survival diaries I previously maintained, I’m keeping things straightforward.

Each entry will have a short description explaining what happened, accompanied by the relevant YouTube recording.

The hub will automatically display new entries as they’re published, making it easier to follow the adventure without searching through individual posts.

And Metroid Fusion is only the beginning.
As I explore other games in the series, their recordings can join the same hub, giving everything a permanent home.

The Camp Continues to Expand

Facebook and YouTube will continue to be part of Survivor Incognito. The website is simply becoming another place to follow these adventures, alongside the guides, maps, tools and reflections already available.

I’ve also got plans for other game hubs, including Rare Games and The Legend of Zelda.

I’m not looking to rebuild the complicated structure I’ve spent time simplifying. The idea is to give each collection of adventures somewhere useful to live, without creating unnecessary work every time another recording is published.

For now, the BSL Research Station is waiting.
And given what happens aboard that station, I’m not entirely convinced that’s a good thing.

One Survivor. Many Worlds.
