Welcome to The Graveyard. This is where failed survival runs go to rest—honored not for their achievements, but for how spectacularly they didn’t make it. Each entry includes the cause of death, duration of survival, and any valuable (or useless) lessons learned.

Case #001 – The Long Dark: Death by Thin Ice
- Name: No name. Didn’t make it that far.
- Game: The Long Dark.
- Difficulty: Voyageur.
- Location: Bleak Inlet.
- Cause of Death: Fell through the ice like an optimistic idiot.
- Survival Time: Less than a day.
- Final Moments: Ran towards loot. Got wet. Froze. Died.
- Lesson Learned: The ice doesn’t care about your plans.
- Last words: “It looks solid enough…”
—
Case #002 – ARK: Scorched Earth: Spear vs. Doedicurus
- Name: Doesn’t matter. The Doedicurus didn’t ask.
- Game: ARK: Scorched Earth.
- Difficulty: Easy.
- Location: Midlands 4.
- Cause of Death: Bludgeoned by a Doedicurus after failing to land a spear hit.
- Survival Time: Roughly 30 minutes.
- Final Moments: Crafted tools. Picked a fight. Lost badly.
- Lesson Learned: Not everything with a tail is friendly.
- Last Words: “I’ve got this.”
—
Case #003 – Green Hell: Jungle Justice
- Name: Not Tarzan.
- Game: Green Hell.
- Mode: Welcome to the Jungle.
- Location: Somewhere humid and deadly.
- Cause of Death: Mystery poisoning. Could have been a plant, a bug, or the breeze.
- Survival Time: Long enough to make a rock axe, short enough to use it.
- Final Moments: Wandered. Poisoned. Died without answers.
- Lesson Learned: In Green Hell, survival is optional. Nature’s mood isn’t.
- Last Words: “I was just walking.”
—
Case #004 – Grounded: The Backyard Takes No Prisoners
- Name: Bite-Sized Adventurer.
- Game: Grounded.
- Mode: Normal.
- Location: Someone’s aggressively overgrown lawn.
- Cause of Death: Death by bugs. Which bugs? Spiders. Possibly a spider intern and their boss. Possibly karma for poking at things that buzz.
- Survival Time: Just long enough to repair a laser and uncover a mystery. Not long enough to solve it.
- Final Moments: Running, fighting, possibly screaming. May have been betrayed by a pebble. Or a blade of grass.
- Lesson Learned: Being small doesn’t mean being safe. And no matter the difficulty setting, the backyard still bites.
- Last Words: “For science!”
—
Case #005 – Dredge: Death by Shipwreck
- Name: Captain Anonymous. No fish, no fortune.
- Game: Dredge.
- Mode: Permadeath Rules.
- Location: Open waters, somewhere it shouldn’t have been.
- Cause of Death: Hull damage ignored until the boat sank.
- Survival Time: 8 days.
- Final Moments: Tried to limp back to port. The sea had other plans.
- Lesson Learned: Always repair before regret.
- Last Words: “It’s just a scratch…”
—
Case #006 – Skyrim: Death by Troll
- Name: An Argonian who thought scales meant safety.
- Game: Skyrim.
- Difficulty: Apprentice.
- Mode: Survival Mode active.
- Location: Windhelm Cave.
- Cause of Death: Clubbed into paste by a troll.
- Survival Time: 13 days.
- Final Moments: Tried to fight. Realised too late that trolls don’t play fair.
- Lesson Learned: Hot soup and a torch won’t save you from a cave troll.
- Last Words: “I think I can take it.”
—
Case #007 – Stranded Deep: Death by Hog
- Name: Another nameless castaway.
- Game: Stranded Deep.
- Mode: Survival, permadeath ethos.
- Location: A deceptively peaceful tropical island.
- Cause of Death: Gored repeatedly by a hog.
- Survival Time: 4 days.
- Final Moments: Tried to dodge. Failed. Became dinner instead of having dinner.
- Lesson Learned: Don’t underestimate pigs. They’re survival horror in disguise.
- Last Words: “It’s just a pig…”
—
Case #008 – Exit 8: Erased in the Corridor
- Name: Another nameless commuter.
- Game: Exit 8.
- Mode: Survival, Loop = Life ethos.
- Location: An endless white-tiled subway corridor.
- Cause of Death: Missed Door 3 anomaly — handle in the wrong place (corridor six).
- Survival Time: 6 Corridors.
- Final Moments: Confident after red water and wall-man earlier, they walked forward certain of success. The corridor blinked, reality folded, and they were back at zero. No warning. No chance.
- Lesson Learned: Even when you think you’ve spotted everything, the corridor hides on more trick. Paranoia is the only survival tool.
- Last Words: “I’ve got this—wait, what?”
Case #009 – Platform 8: Erased on the Train
- Name: Another nameless passenger.
- Game: Platform 8.
- Mode: Survival, Loop = Life ethos.
- Location: An endless subway train.
- Cause of Deaths:
- Taken by the woman at the exit who moves when the lights go out.
- Rushed towards the open exit instead of waiting for it to close – dragged away by an unseen entity.
- Flooded carriage with red water; closed the door instead of running for the exit.
- Chose curiosity over vigilance – entered the next garage without spotting the anomaly and reset straight back to carriage 0.
- Survival Time: 4 erased survivors, one escape.
- Final Moments: Each death taught a different rule – move at the right time, don’t trust the easy exits, run when the water rises, and never press forward without spotting the wrongness.
- Last Words: “Just one more carriage…”
