Our cautious wanderer isn’t done with the cold just yet.
Day 3 of A Voyageur’s Tale arrives this Thursday, and things are heating up—well, metaphorically. Expect more coffee, questionable decisions, and the creeping suspicion that the wolves have formed a union.
If you’ve missed the first two entries, now’s a good time to catch up. The cold doesn’t wait, and neither do the moose.
So… I may have taken a wrong turn on the way to Bleak Falls Barrow. Twice.
Day 2 of my stealth-archer survival in Skyrim brings snowstorms, skeletal surprises, and the harsh realization that I probably should’ve brought a torch. Also: I’ve discovered the joys of necromancy. It’s amazing what a little magic, a lot of arrows, and a reanimated corpse can do against the undead.
Full Day 2 post coming on Wednesday —expect frostbite, draugr, and exactly one incredibly untrustworthy man in a web cocoon.

Survivor Incognito’s new Map Hub is here! Get quick access to detailed maps for The Long Dark, Skyrim, ARK: Survival Evolved, and more.
Lost again? You’re in luck—because now I know where I am. Mostly.
The Map Hub is now live on Survivor Incognito! It’s your one-stop page for every survival game map I’ve blundered through so far. Whether you’re wandering Mystery Lake, dodging deathworms in Scorched Earth, or just trying to remember which way Bleak Falls Barrow is, I’ve got you covered.
Here’s what’s inside:
The Long Dark region pages (including DLC and transition zones)
ARK: Survival Evolved maps for The Island and Scorched Earth, with links to interactive versions
Skyrim world map (because frostbite waits for no one)
A placeholder for future games, because let’s face it—I’m probably going to keep making poor survival decisions
Each game has its own dedicated map section, and I’ll keep expanding it as the blog grows. So if you ever need to get your bearings—or just want to laugh at mine—you know where to click.
We made it through another week of frostbite, undead assassins, and poor life choices involving torches. Here’s what’s (hopefully) coming next week:
The Long Dark Region Maps Page
The Great Bear Island and Far Territory anchors are live. Up next: finishing the region write-ups, transition zones, and making sure Transfer Pass behaves itself. I’m hoping to get this finished up before the next day of A Voyageur’s Tale is up.
Sneak, Snipe, Repeat Day 2
The Golden Claw waits, and so do the draugr. Next week, I brave Bleak Falls Barrow armed with low expectations, a questionable sense of direction, and necromancy. Because if someone’s gotta die in that ruin, it might as well be twice.
I try to escape Desolation Point. Spoiler: the wolves have other plans. There will be storms, missteps, and probably a desperate sprint across a broken bridge. Again.
Also, quick note: I’m updating the front page of the blog! You’ll find some new sections, updated links, and a cleaner layout, so keep an eye out for those changes. It’s all part of making your journey through my survival stories just a little smoother.
Missed this week’s survival misadventures? Here’s your one-stop recap of ARK, Skyrim, and The Long Dark escapades, plus a sneak peek at what’s coming next.
The matches? Still missing. The weather? Colder than a freezer full of betrayal. The navigator? Definitely lost.
Survivor Incognito’s Voyageur playthrough continues with Day Two—featuring poor directional choices, frostbitten regret, and the desperate hunt for anything that’ll start a fire.
Brace Yourselves: More Bad Decisions in the Cold Are Coming Today
The next entry in The Cold Chronicles: A Voyageur’s Tale of The Long Dark drops later today. Expect questionable survival strategies, accidental sprains, and the kind of looting choices that make future-you roll their eyes.
Check back soon—because nothing says cozy like reading about frostbite from the comfort of your warm couch.
What happens when an Argonian wakes up in a war-torn land, gets ambushed by wolves, and punches their way through a mine with a bow, a mace, and zero survival instincts?
Skyrim Survival Mode is cold, cruel, and kind of hilarious when you’re new, hungry, and accidentally following Hadvar because you forgot where Riverwood was.
Day One drops in the next few hours—get ready for some frosty chaos and beginner stealth-archer blunders.
And don’t forget: Day Two of The Long Dark Voyageur playthrough goes live tomorrow. More cold. More chaos. Less punching. (Probably.)
Some say Bleak Inlet is for experts. I say, “What could possibly go wrong?” My cozy survival playthrough kicks off in one of the game’s most unforgiving regions—and yes, I immediately regret everything. But with the power of Voyageur mode and a healthy fear of cougars, I brave the cold so you don’t have to.
Kicking off my Voyageur playthrough of The Long Dark on Nintendo Switch, I found myself dropped into the icy isolation of Desolation Point. Between dodging wolves, scavenging for supplies, and discovering that boats are only useful when not frozen solid, it was a classic first day in the apocalypse. Want to know how I fared (and how many times I nearly froze to death)?
