Super Mario 64 Randomizer โ€“ Log 2: Chuckyaโ€™s Revenge

Platform: Steam Deck
Settings: Vanilla Mario & Music โ€” chaos left entirely intact.

โ€œGravity and Chuckya joined forces today. I call it a hate crime.โ€

Fresh off the high of conquering Bowser and the Secret Slide, I decided to revisit Shifting Sand Land. One more star there couldnโ€™t hurt, right? A quick trip across some quicksand later, I added another to the tally and figured it was time to see what lay below the castle.

Thatโ€™s when I wandered into the Boo garden โ€” home to ghostly giggles, hidden secrets, and one particularly smug Boo concealing a course entrance. I gave chase, stomped the spook, and jumped straight into the portal. The result? Tall, Tall Mountain. Great name. Terrible welcome.

Watch Log 2:

Thrown Off the Deep End

My very first spawn placed me in armโ€™s reach of a Chuckya. Before I could even process what I was looking at, the purple menace grabbed me and threw me off the mountain. Ten seconds in, one life down, ego shattered. I went back in for a rematch because apparently I enjoy suffering.

Round two went much better. I methodically climbed the slopes, dodged monkey theft, narrowly avoided falling logs, and picked up six of the seven available stars. Not bad for a course that literally tried to throw me away on entry.

The lone survivor is the 100 Coin Star, which Iโ€™ll tackle next timeโ€”assuming I can convince myself that collecting loose change while balancing on ledges is โ€œfun.โ€

Log 2 Summary

  • Stars Collected: 13
  • Stars Remaining: 107
  • Lives: 8

After the sandstorms and the mountainโ€™s murderous intent, Iโ€™m learning that no amount of preparation can outmatch the randomizerโ€™s sense of humour. Still, progress is progressโ€”and at least this time I didnโ€™t get flung into the void twice in a row.

Lessons from Log 2

  • Chuckya exists solely to ruin your day.
  • Always expect ledges to betray you.
  • Boos are pranksters, not friends.
  • Six stars and a grudge is still a win.

Six Months of Chaos: A Survivorโ€™s Milestone

[Signal detectedโ€ฆ]

Six months ago, I started this little corner of chaos thinking Iโ€™d maybe post a few survival stories, get a handful of clicks, and quietly freeze to death somewhere in The Long Dark. Back then, it was just me, a Nintendo Switch, and the idea of documenting how many ways I could die before breakfast.

Since then, the blogโ€™s grown far beyond what I expected โ€” from Switch survival diaries to Steam Deck expeditions, from small guides to full-blown playthroughs and embracing chaos. And somehow, itโ€™s still alive โ€” which feels like a small miracle, considering most blogs donโ€™t make it past the first few months. Hundreds of clicks, countless laughs, and a few subscribers later, Iโ€™m still here โ€” fuelled by caffeine and questionable decisions.

So first and foremost โ€” thank you. Whether youโ€™ve clicked, read, liked, shared, or just wandered in wondering how someone can die to a rabbit, I appreciate every single bit of support.

Transmission #0 โ€“ Reverse Voice Reveal

To mark the occasion, I decided to put together a short video. Some of you mightโ€™ve thought this would finally be my voice reveal. To that I sayโ€ฆ really?

A brief burst of static, gratitude, and one very loud Godpigeon scream. Full credit, of course, to the brilliant Animaniacs team for that glorious noise.

Fuel for the Generator

Iโ€™ve also quietly launched a Ko-fi page โ€” emphasis on quietly. I didnโ€™t make a big announcement about it because I didnโ€™t want it to feel like a sales pitch. Everything I create will always stay free to read and free to enjoy. Thatโ€™s a promise.

I know times are tough and not everyone can spare a few pounds โ€” and thatโ€™s perfectly fine. Your clicks, comments, and time already mean more than enough. The Ko-fi page is just there for anyone who genuinely wants to toss a tip into the mug to help keep the coffee flowing and the generator humming. Please donโ€™t go overboard; keep the lights on at home first.

Down the line, I might look at adding a few ads on the blog or YouTube channel, but Iโ€™ll do my best to keep them minimal and non-intrusive. Iโ€™d rather focus on sharing stories and surviving the next storm than filling screens with banners and pop-ups.

Looking Ahead

Thereโ€™s still a lot left to explore โ€” new games, new disasters, same portable chaos. Iโ€™m excited (and mildly terrified) to see what the next six months bring.

So hereโ€™s to six months of frostbite, fuel shortages, and unexpected victories โ€” and hereโ€™s to making it a full year of portable chaos. Thank you for being part of this weird, wonderful journey.

[Transmission terminated. Coffee levels: critical.]

๐ŸŽ‰ We Hit 1,000 Views! โ€“ A Survivorโ€™s First Milestone

Estimated time to read: Slightly less time than it takes to get eaten by a wolf in Voyageur mode.

Somehow, somewhere, in between falling through the ice in The Long Dark, and getting flattened by a doedicurus in ARKโ€”I hit 1,000 views on this blog.

One. Thousand. Views.

I donโ€™t know which one of you read the Subnautica Maps page more than once, but I appreciate you. Whether youโ€™re here for map guides, day one disasters, or just to feel better about your own survival skillsโ€”you made this happen.

So to celebrate:

Iโ€™m still alive (in at least one save file).

The permadeath chaos continues.

More games are coming (seriously, thereโ€™s a Subnautica diary on the horizon and I may be foolishly eyeing Blast Corps as a permadeath challengeโ€”because why not add demolition trucks to my stress levels?).

To everyone whoโ€™s clicked, read, liked, or even accidentally stumbled here while Googling โ€œhow to not die in Mystery Lakeโ€โ€”thank you. The chaos is portable, but so is the community weโ€™re building here.

Once again, thank you to everyone who has clicked on my little corner of chaos on the Internet.

Hereโ€™s to the next 1,000 viewsโ€”and maybe even surviving past Day Five next time.

Stay warm. Stay weird. Stay Incognito.

Day One Diaries Return Tuesday โ€“ This Time, Itโ€™s Stranded Deep

Just a quick heads-up: a new Day One Diary drops this Tuesday, and weโ€™re heading somewhere sunny… and deadly. Thatโ€™s right โ€” itโ€™s time for Stranded Deep.

The Day One warm-up lands this week. The official permadeath run starts next week.

Get ready for sunburns, sharks, and me trying to build a raft that doesnโ€™t immediately flip over.

Want to get caught up? Check out the hub page for Sunburnt & Sinking: A Stranded Deep Survival Diary.

โ˜ฃ๏ธ Permadeath Pending: Games That Might End Me Next

Hereโ€™s a look at the survival and horror games currently on deck at Survivor Incognito โ€” including Subnautica, Alien: Isolation, Resident Evil, and more. Expect disasters. Possibly nuclear.

While Iโ€™m still trying to survive sand, snow, sea monsters, and supply chain disasters (SnowRunner coughs in Michigan), Iโ€™ve also been staring at my backlog and thinking:

โ€œWhat else could go horribly wrong?โ€

Here are the games lurking in the blog pipeline โ€” all under consideration, none guaranteed to go well.

๐ŸŽฎ Games Under Consideration (aka: The Next Mistake)

๐Ÿชธ Subnautica & Below Zero

Status: Planned
Blog Potential: Longform underwater dread, optional screaming

Classic survival, but 500 meters underwater with alien jellyfish. Subnautica is set to follow Stranded Deep, assuming I donโ€™t starve to death on a raft before then.

Below Zero is the colder, weirder sequel. Iโ€™ll likely run it once Iโ€™ve built enough fake confidence from the original.

๐Ÿ‘ฝ Alien: Isolation

Status: “Definitely Maybe”
Blog Potential: High panic, high perishability

Itโ€™s just me, a broken flamethrower, and one very judgmental alien. Iโ€™m currently designing blog rules that allow me to survive more than one encounter without invalidating the whole series.

If I pull the trigger, itโ€™ll be part of Survivorโ€™s Dread โ€” assuming the alien doesnโ€™t pull it first.

๐Ÿงฑ Minecraft: Skyblock

Status: In Freefall
Blog Potential: Infinite resource drama, void-based trauma

Floating blocks. Limited resources. Me forgetting how gravity works. A Skyblock run could easily become a short-form Day One Diaries arc or a full permadeath challenge titled Skyward.

Every entry will involve a mistake that absolutely could have been avoided.

โ˜ข๏ธ Blast Corps (Permadeath Series)

Status: Scheduled post-SnowRunner
Blog Potential: Explosions. One life. Bulldozers.

This oneโ€™s simple: if the nuclear truck explodes, thatโ€™s the end of the series.

Expect a short, chaotic run where I flatten towns in the name of safety. The tone will be lighter. The stakes will be extremely not.

๐ŸงŸ Resident Evil (Zero, One, Revelations 1 & 2)

Status: Rotating Horror Fodder
Blog Potential: High-panic short arcs, possible scream counters

Classic survival horror. Typewriters. Puzzles. Me mismanaging ammo like itโ€™s my first zombie rodeo. These games could work as Survivorโ€™s Dread mini-series or feature as one-off challenge runs.

Permadeath rules apply. Panic is inevitable.

๐Ÿง  XCOM 2

Status: Under Tactical Review
Blog Potential: Emotional damage disguised as strategy

Turn-based survival meets naming your doomed teammates. Could become a squad diary under a name like Operation Incognito, or a straight-up permadeath campaign where I get attached and suffer the consequences.

If you want to watch me cry over fictional soldiers, this is the one.

๐Ÿ“ Completed Games & In Progress (For Nowโ€ฆ)

These titles have had their moment on the blog โ€” but might make a comeback when Iโ€™ve emotionally recovered:

  • Skyrim Survival Mode
My Argonian necromancer lived through cold weather, clumsy ambushes, and accidental vampirism. We may revisit his tale. Justโ€ฆ not Bleak Falls Barrow again.
  • The Long Dark โ€“ Voyageur Run
We tackled Mystery Lake, Coastal Highway, and transition zones full of regret. Future runs may include Customloper or Misery Mode, depending how brave (or foolish) I feel.
  • SnowRunner (Michigan Arc)
Once Michigan is cleared, Iโ€™m calling it. Iโ€™ll return to stuck trucks and bad contracts eventually, but first โ€” nukes.

๐Ÿ’ฌ So, What Should I Play Next?

Hereโ€™s where you come in. Got a favorite from the list above? Think I should suffer through Alien: Isolation before jumping into the ocean? Have your own terrible suggestion?

Drop a comment. Vote with chaos. Whisper โ€œSkyblockโ€ into the void. Whatever works.

No New Dino Disaster Today โ€” But Hereโ€™s One You May Have Missed

I was planning to post a brand-new Day One Diary for ARK todayโ€ฆ but life, as it tends to do, had other plans. Between work, chores, and trying not to get stomped myself, there just wasnโ€™t time to spawn, craft, and get eaten properly.

So instead, hereโ€™s a look back at one of my previous ARK Day One disasters โ€” complete with early optimism and inevitable doom, along with some others:
๐Ÿ‘‰ [Day One Diaries | Survival Game Playthroughs & First-Day Survival Challenges]

New entries are still coming soon. SnowRunner kicks off on Friday, and more chaos is always just around the corner.

Hereโ€™s What You Missed This Week โ€“ Survivor Incognito Recap

A look back at the survival chaos from this week on Survivor Incognito: from haunted seas and freezing wilderness to dino disasters and exploding oaks.

Itโ€™s been a week full of questionable decisions, close calls, and new beginnings here at Survivor Incognito. In case you missed any of the madness, hereโ€™s your survival cheat sheet!

๐ŸŒŠ Tuesday โ€“ Dark Waters: A Dredge Survival โ€“ Day Five

The search for one stubborn fish continued, along with a steady descent into darkness and dread.

๐Ÿ‡ Wednesday โ€“ Customloper Diaries Day Three

Charcoal maps, rabbit stew, and a sudden storm โ€” because survival in The Long Dark is never boring.

๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ Wednesday โ€“ Behind the Blog: ARK Map Page Expansion

A behind-the-scenes update! Iโ€™m working on expanding the ARK Survival Evolved map page to cover all Switch maps. All the regions, all the doom.

๐Ÿน Thursday โ€“ Sneak, Snipe, Repeat: Skyrim Survival โ€“ Day Ten

Vampires, arrows, and highly questionable footwear choices. My Argonian had quite the day.

๐Ÿœ Friday โ€“ The Backyard Trials: Grounded Permadeath โ€“ Day Three

The lasers were fixed, the oak tree exploded (as it does), and the backyard remains terrifying.

๐Ÿฆ– Saturday โ€“ ARK: Aberration โ€“ Day One Diary

Punching trees, hallucinating plants, and being reminded why Aberration is not the friendliest place to spawn.

Whatโ€™s Next?

More chaos, more permadeath, and maybe even a few victories (no promises). Stay tuned!

Hereโ€™s What You Missed This Week โ€“ Survivor Incognito Recap

Itโ€™s been another action-packed week of survival, chaos, and questionable decisions over at Survivor Incognito. If youโ€™ve been busy wrestling giant crabs, flipping trucks, or dodging ghost fish, hereโ€™s your chance to catch up!

๐ŸŒจ๏ธ Monday โ€“ Why I Made SnowRunner Permadeath

I broke down the logic (or madness?) behind turning SnowRunner into a permadeath challenge. Because nothing says โ€œrelaxing driveโ€ like knowing one bad flip could end it all. [Read More Here]

๐ŸŒŠ Tuesday โ€“ Dark Waters: A Dredge Survival โ€“ Day Four

The sea giveth, the sea taketh awayโ€ฆ and sometimes it just giveth more terror. Day Four of my Dredge permadeath series saw the madness meter creeping ever higher. [Dark Waters: A Dredge Survival โ€“ Day Four]

๐Ÿบ Wednesday โ€“ The Cold Chronicles โ€“ Day Seven

Another day, another frostbite risk. My Voyageur survivor braved the cold and the chaos as we inch further into this brutal Long Dark journey. [The Cold Chronicles Day Seven: A Voyageurโ€™s Tale of The Long Dark]

๐Ÿน Thursday โ€“ Sneak, Snipe, Repeat โ€“ Day Nine

The Argonian archer continued slinking through Skyrim, proving that stealth is greatโ€”right up until it isnโ€™t. Day Nine brought more dragons, more necromancy, and more โ€œhow did that go so wrong?โ€ moments. [Sneak, Snipe, Repeat: Skyrim Survival Day Nine]

๐Ÿœ Friday โ€“ Grounded: Day Two

The backyard is still terrifying. Day Two brought more bugs, more base-building, and more moments of me asking why I ever thought permadeath was a good idea here. [The Backyard Trials: Grounded Permadeath โ€“ Day Two]

๐Ÿฆ– Saturday โ€“ Day One Diaries of ARK: Survival Evolved Announced

Big news! I announced the upcoming Day One Diaries for ARK: Survival Evolved. Expect dinos, disasters, and probably a lot of running for my life. [Get the details here]

๐ŸŽ‰ 500 Views of Portable Chaos โ€“ Thank You for Stopping By!

Survivor Incognito has crossed 500 views! A huge thank you to everyone whoโ€™s joined the portable survival chaos. Hereโ€™s to more maps, more diaries, and probably more regrettable decisions.

57 Days. 500 Views. And At Least That Many Bad Spear Throws.

Somehow, this little survival corner of the internet has crossed 500 viewsโ€”and I want to say a huge thank you to everyone whoโ€™s visited, clicked, or accidentally found the blog while looking for something else entirely. (Hey, Iโ€™ll take it.)

When I started Survivor Incognito 57 days ago, it was just a space to share:

Survival game stories (usually featuring questionable decisions)

Maps and guides (so you donโ€™t get lost like I do)

And a lot of Switch-based chaos

Fast forward to today, and Iโ€™m genuinely thrilled that over 500 viewsโ€™ worth of folks have joined in. Whether you came for ARK maps, The Long Dark Customloper settings, Skyrim survival mishaps, or just to watch the chaos unfoldโ€”thank you.

๐Ÿš€ Whatโ€™s Next?

The chaos continues:

The Day One Diaries: ARK Edition is launching soon, filling the weekend gaps with fresh prehistoric panic.

The map pages and hubs will keep growing as I explore (and inevitably die in) new places.

More survival stories, more bad ideas, and probably more pinecone tea. Expect more information soon.

๐Ÿงญ Thanks for Joining the Journey

Iโ€™m just getting started. If youโ€™ve enjoyed the blog so far: โžก Bookmark the site
โžก Share it with fellow Switch survival fans
โžก Or just stick around for the next 500 views of portable disaster.

Hereโ€™s to the next milestoneโ€”and to thriving, not just surviving.

๐Ÿฆ– Day One Diaries: ARK Edition โ€“ Now Filling the Weekend Gaps

Day One Diaries returns with an ARK twist! Each short entry covers the first chaotic 24 hours on every map in ARK: Survival Evolved for the Nintendo Switch. Chaos, dinos, and bad decisions await.

So, People Have Been Clicking the ARK Map Pageโ€ฆ

โ€ฆand thatโ€™s either a promising sign or a harbinger of incoming disaster.

Either way, welcome to a brand-new side series here on Survivor Incognito:

> ๐ŸŽฎ Day One Diaries: ARK Edition
A bite-sized, chaos-fueled survival journal where I explore the first 24 hours on every ARK map available on the Nintendo Switch.

This series is coming soon and will drop on one of the blogโ€™s quieter daysโ€”Mondays, Saturdays, and Sundaysโ€”to fill in the gaps with some portable prehistoric panic.

๐Ÿ—บ๏ธ What to Expect

Each post will document:

โ€ข Where I spawned

โ€ข What I crafted (poorly)

โ€ข What inevitably killed me

And whether I learned anything (spoiler: probably not)

These arenโ€™t full playthroughsโ€”theyโ€™re glorified diary entries of my first day of disaster, all tied together with maps, Switch gameplay quirks, and whatever half-baked strategy I manage to invent before something eats me.

โœ… Already Posted

Iโ€™ve already covered the following maps in earlier posts:

The Island

Scorched Earth

So I wonโ€™t be redoing those. Instead, Iโ€™ll link back to those entries when their time comes in the lineup.

๐ŸŒ‹ Whatโ€™s Next?

From here, itโ€™s on to the rest of the maps available on the Nintendo Switch:

โ€ข Aberration

โ€ข Extinction

โ€ข Genesis Part 1

โ€ข Genesis Part 2

โ€ข Ragnarok (DLC)

Each time I publish a new Day One Diary, Iโ€™ll also update the ARK Map Hub with:

โ€ข The region map

โ€ข Survival notes

โ€ข Links to the interactive resource map

โ€ข Possibly a eulogy

๐Ÿงช A Preview of What Youโ€™re In For…

To set the mood, hereโ€™s a flawlessly accurate preview of what I expect my time in Aberration to look likeโ€”courtesy of Neebs Gaming:

> ๐ŸŽฅ Simon vs. Snake โ€“ Neebs Gaming in Aberration
Simonโ€™s alone. Eating peanuts. Thereโ€™s a snake. Panic ensues.

Itโ€™s everything ARK represents: snack time, followed by betrayal and screaming.

๐ŸŽฌ Chaos You Can Count On

If something truly unhinged happens during one of these Day One sessionsโ€”and letโ€™s be honest, it willโ€”itโ€™ll earn its own spotlight as a Survivorโ€™s Shorts post.

Because some moments of portable disaster deserve a dedicated write-upโ€ฆ especially the ones where I genuinely thought I was safe and then immediately wasnโ€™t.

๐Ÿ“… First Entry Drops Soon

Check back next Saturday for Day One in The Islandโ€”the first stop on this tour of Switch-based suffering. Followed by Scorched Earth the next week, and then finally, Aberration.

Expect bioluminescent fungus, regret, and gravity issues. See you there.
