๐ŸŽ‰ We Hit 1,000 Views! โ€“ A Survivorโ€™s First Milestone

Estimated time to read: Slightly less time than it takes to get eaten by a wolf in Voyageur mode.

Somehow, somewhere, in between falling through the ice in The Long Dark, and getting flattened by a doedicurus in ARKโ€”I hit 1,000 views on this blog.

One. Thousand. Views.

I donโ€™t know which one of you read the Subnautica Maps page more than once, but I appreciate you. Whether youโ€™re here for map guides, day one disasters, or just to feel better about your own survival skillsโ€”you made this happen.

So to celebrate:

Iโ€™m still alive (in at least one save file).

The permadeath chaos continues.

More games are coming (seriously, thereโ€™s a Subnautica diary on the horizon and I may be foolishly eyeing Blast Corps as a permadeath challengeโ€”because why not add demolition trucks to my stress levels?).

To everyone whoโ€™s clicked, read, liked, or even accidentally stumbled here while Googling โ€œhow to not die in Mystery Lakeโ€โ€”thank you. The chaos is portable, but so is the community weโ€™re building here.

Once again, thank you to everyone who has clicked on my little corner of chaos on the Internet.

Hereโ€™s to the next 1,000 viewsโ€”and maybe even surviving past Day Five next time.

Stay warm. Stay weird. Stay Incognito.

โ˜ฃ๏ธ Permadeath Pending: Games That Might End Me Next

Hereโ€™s a look at the survival and horror games currently on deck at Survivor Incognito โ€” including Subnautica, Alien: Isolation, Resident Evil, and more. Expect disasters. Possibly nuclear.

While Iโ€™m still trying to survive sand, snow, sea monsters, and supply chain disasters (SnowRunner coughs in Michigan), Iโ€™ve also been staring at my backlog and thinking:

โ€œWhat else could go horribly wrong?โ€

Here are the games lurking in the blog pipeline โ€” all under consideration, none guaranteed to go well.

๐ŸŽฎ Games Under Consideration (aka: The Next Mistake)

๐Ÿชธ Subnautica & Below Zero

Status: Planned
Blog Potential: Longform underwater dread, optional screaming

Classic survival, but 500 meters underwater with alien jellyfish. Subnautica is set to follow Stranded Deep, assuming I donโ€™t starve to death on a raft before then.

Below Zero is the colder, weirder sequel. Iโ€™ll likely run it once Iโ€™ve built enough fake confidence from the original.

๐Ÿ‘ฝ Alien: Isolation

Status: “Definitely Maybe”
Blog Potential: High panic, high perishability

Itโ€™s just me, a broken flamethrower, and one very judgmental alien. Iโ€™m currently designing blog rules that allow me to survive more than one encounter without invalidating the whole series.

If I pull the trigger, itโ€™ll be part of Survivorโ€™s Dread โ€” assuming the alien doesnโ€™t pull it first.

๐Ÿงฑ Minecraft: Skyblock

Status: In Freefall
Blog Potential: Infinite resource drama, void-based trauma

Floating blocks. Limited resources. Me forgetting how gravity works. A Skyblock run could easily become a short-form Day One Diaries arc or a full permadeath challenge titled Skyward.

Every entry will involve a mistake that absolutely could have been avoided.

โ˜ข๏ธ Blast Corps (Permadeath Series)

Status: Scheduled post-SnowRunner
Blog Potential: Explosions. One life. Bulldozers.

This oneโ€™s simple: if the nuclear truck explodes, thatโ€™s the end of the series.

Expect a short, chaotic run where I flatten towns in the name of safety. The tone will be lighter. The stakes will be extremely not.

๐ŸงŸ Resident Evil (Zero, One, Revelations 1 & 2)

Status: Rotating Horror Fodder
Blog Potential: High-panic short arcs, possible scream counters

Classic survival horror. Typewriters. Puzzles. Me mismanaging ammo like itโ€™s my first zombie rodeo. These games could work as Survivorโ€™s Dread mini-series or feature as one-off challenge runs.

Permadeath rules apply. Panic is inevitable.

๐Ÿง  XCOM 2

Status: Under Tactical Review
Blog Potential: Emotional damage disguised as strategy

Turn-based survival meets naming your doomed teammates. Could become a squad diary under a name like Operation Incognito, or a straight-up permadeath campaign where I get attached and suffer the consequences.

If you want to watch me cry over fictional soldiers, this is the one.

๐Ÿ“ Completed Games & In Progress (For Nowโ€ฆ)

These titles have had their moment on the blog โ€” but might make a comeback when Iโ€™ve emotionally recovered:

  • Skyrim Survival Mode
My Argonian necromancer lived through cold weather, clumsy ambushes, and accidental vampirism. We may revisit his tale. Justโ€ฆ not Bleak Falls Barrow again.
  • The Long Dark โ€“ Voyageur Run
We tackled Mystery Lake, Coastal Highway, and transition zones full of regret. Future runs may include Customloper or Misery Mode, depending how brave (or foolish) I feel.
  • SnowRunner (Michigan Arc)
Once Michigan is cleared, Iโ€™m calling it. Iโ€™ll return to stuck trucks and bad contracts eventually, but first โ€” nukes.

๐Ÿ’ฌ So, What Should I Play Next?

Hereโ€™s where you come in. Got a favorite from the list above? Think I should suffer through Alien: Isolation before jumping into the ocean? Have your own terrible suggestion?

Drop a comment. Vote with chaos. Whisper โ€œSkyblockโ€ into the void. Whatever works.

๐Ÿงญ Weekly Recap โ€“ Survive, Sleep, Repeat

Catch up on the latest survival stories from Survivor Incognito, including permadeath tips, The Long Darkโ€™s Customloper progress, Skyrim Survival struggles, and our chaotic first steps in Grounded. Your weekly roundup of cozy chaos and portable panic is here!

Monday:

๐Ÿ’€ How I Handle Permadeath (And Still Sleep at Night)
I laid out my personal rules for permadeath, how I cope when a character dies a stupid death (usually of my own doing), and why it somehow keeps me coming back for more. Survival tip: Sleep helps. So does sarcasm.

Read it here: How I Handle Permadeath (and Still Sleep at Night)

Tuesday

๐Ÿ“œ Dark Waters: A Dredge Survival โ€“ Day Three
We went further out to sea, saw things we probably shouldnโ€™t have, and learned that fish aren’t the only things lurking in the dark. Spoiler: sanity is overrated.

Read it here: Dark Waters: A Dredge Survival โ€“ Day Three

Wednesday

๐Ÿ” Customloper โ€“ Day Two
Mountain Town continues to be less โ€œcosy alpine retreatโ€ and more โ€œconveniently located death trap.โ€ At least we are still in one piece. Mostly.

Read it here: Customloper Diaries Day Two: Blizzards, Boots, and Baseball Cap Confusion

Thursday

๐Ÿ—ก Skyrim Survival โ€“ Day Eight
Frostbite, bandits, and the general annoyance of being overencumbered after picking up one too many cabbages. Classic Skyrim survival energy.

Read it here: Sneak, Snipe, Repeat Day Eight

Friday:

๐Ÿก Grounded โ€“ Day One
Honey, I Shrunk the Panic. First day in the backyard brought bugs, dehydration, and a steep learning curve. That aphid had it coming.

Read it here: The Backyard Trials: Grounded Day One โ€“ Honey, I Lost Myself in the Backyard

Coming next week:

๐ŸงŠ More Long Dark, more Dark Waters, more Skyrim, and a deeper dive into the backyard horrors of Grounded. If weโ€™re lucky, there may even be fireflies. If not, probably just death by thirst.

I’ll also hopefully have the Day One Diary for Don’t Starve up. And will explain the the rules for Snowrunner Survival. But these are both hopefully as I’m currently under the weather at the time of this going up. Thank goodness for being able to schedule posts though.

A New Challenger Approaches โ€“ Welcome to Green Hell

Itโ€™s time to trade backyards for the Amazon.

Iโ€™m heading into Green Hell, the survival game where nature doesnโ€™t just want you deadโ€”it wants you paranoid, dehydrated, and wondering if that rash is the least of your problems.

This new run is coming soon to the blog, taking its place in the rotation with all the usual Survivor Incognito flair: overly ambitious decisions, chaotic jungle flailing, and a main character who probably shouldโ€™ve stayed home.

So if youโ€™ve ever wanted to see how fast someone can go from โ€œIโ€™ve got thisโ€ to โ€œI think the trees are whispering,โ€ youโ€™re in for a treat.

Stay tuned. The jungle waits.

Survivor Incognito Weekly: The Long Dark, Skyrim Survival, Dredge Permadeath & More (June 2nd – June 8th)

Another week of survival, chaos, and questionable decision making is upon us โ€” hereโ€™s what you can expect across the blog in the next seven days:

๐Ÿงธ Monday โ€“ Bear Meets Panic Rifle (Survivorโ€™s Shorts)

It starts with a bear. It ends with panic. Somewhere in between, a rifle is involved. You can probably guess how well that goes.

๐ŸŒŠ Tuesday โ€“ Dark Waters: A Dredge Survival โ€“ Day 1

We set sail on our brand new permadeath adventure through Dredge. The waters may look calmโ€ฆ but donโ€™t let them fool you.

โ„๏ธ Wednesday โ€“ Customloper: Day 1 โ€“ Mountain Town Start

The Customloper run officially kicks off! I spawn in Mountain Town and try my very best not to freeze, starve, or get eaten before I even leave Milton.

โš” Thursday โ€“ Skyrim Survival: Day 6

The trek through Skyrimโ€™s frozen wilderness continues. More frostbite, more danger, and almost certainly another regrettable encounter with something that bites.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Friday โ€“ A Voyageurโ€™s Tale (The Long Dark): Day 6

Back to the familiar cold of The Long Dark as the Voyageur run marches on into day six. Wolves, weather, and the never-ending quest for coffee.

๐ŸฆŒ Saturday โ€“ Survivorโ€™s Shorts: The Interloper Moose Incident

I try Interloper mode in The Long Dark. I spawn. I panic. The moose arrives. Thatโ€™s pretty much the plot summary.

๐Ÿ”ฅ Survive with us every week on Survivor Incognito โ€” your home for survival gaming on Nintendo Switch.

Follow along for The Long Dark guides, Skyrim Survival Mode playthroughs, Dredge permadeath runs, and Customloper challenges. New survival game content posted weekly โ€” with humor, tips, and plenty of questionable life choices.

Survivor’s Dread Has Arrived โ€“ A New Home For Survival Horror

Survivorโ€™s Dread is now live! A new hub for survival horror playthroughs, starting with Dark Waters: A Dredge Survival.

Iโ€™m very excited (and slightly nervous) to officially launch Survivorโ€™s Dread: the newest corner of Survivor Incognito where survival horror games get their own home.

Here youโ€™ll find my permadeath playthroughs and survival horror experimentsโ€”where the games arenโ€™t just about food meters and blizzards, but also sanity meters, strange noises, and questionable life choices.

Weโ€™re kicking things off with Dark Waters: A Dredge Survival, where I attempt to survive fishing in waters that absolutely do not want me there.

The Doedicurus Incident: How I Lost a Fight I Didn’t Know I Was Starting

Day 1 of ARK: Scorched Earth. I spawned, made some pants, and was murdered by what I thought was a friendly armoured pet rock. A true story of betrayal, bad aim, and Doedicurus rage.

Welcome to the Desert. Here’s a Spear. Try Not To Die.

I woke up in the Scorched Earth desert with nothing but my fists and the overwhelming sense that everything around me wanted me dead.

Naturally, I punched a tree, made a pickaxe, and crafted myself a stunning outfit made entirely of itchy rags. Survival 101.

Thatโ€™s when I saw it: a Doedicurus.
Round, slow-moving, and with the kind of face that said, โ€œI mind my business.โ€ It was adorable. I felt safe.

This would be my desert buddy. My spiky little friend.
I had plans. Big plans. I was going to tame it. Name it. Maybe ride it into battle.

Then I Threw a Spear at It.

Nowโ€ฆ in my defense, I meant to throw the spear next to the Doedicurus.
You know, to test it. Impress it. Establish dominance. Whatever people do in survival games.

What I didnโ€™t mean to do was poke it directly in the face.

Cue a noise I didnโ€™t know Doedicuruses could make.
Cue it rolling toward me like an angry bowling ball with revenge issues.

The Fight That Wasn’t.

I panicked.
I had one more spear. I missed.
I pulled out my fists. They wereโ€ฆ less effective.

The Doedicurus did not miss. It swung its tail like it was trying to launch me into the next biome.
It succeeded.

Respawn, Reflect, Regret.

As I stared at the โ€œYou Diedโ€ screen, one thought ran through my head:
What the hell just happened?

I came here to survive.
I left wearing nothing but shame and a crushed dream of dinosaur friendship.

Final Thoughts

Let it be known: Doedicuruses are not your friends.
They are boulders with feelings. And those feelings are rage.

Next time, Iโ€™m taming a Jerboa. At least they donโ€™t roll over you for sport.

Hereโ€™s Whatโ€™s Coming This Week โ€“ From Dodos to Doedicurus and Deep Space

This week at Survivor Incognito: dino disasters, cosmic chaos, a return to Customloper, and two new Survivorโ€™s Shorts. Here’s the full lineup of whatโ€™s dropping and when.

Monday โ€“ A Double Hit to Start the Week

Day One Diary: No Manโ€™s Sky
Cold planet, no scanner, and a plant that bit me. Welcome to Zuwan 58/E6.

Survivorโ€™s Short: The Doedicurus Incident
One spear. One armadillo. Zero survivors. The best (worst?) five seconds of ARK youโ€™ll ever read.

Wednesday โ€“ Into the Cold

Day One Diary: The Long Dark โ€“ Customloper
Coastal Highway just got colder. My custom difficulty is set to โ€œhelp is a mythโ€ โ€” and this diary is where it begins. This is a taster of what is to come next week

Thursday โ€“ Skyrim Survives Another Day

Skyrim Survival โ€“ Day Five
My Argonianโ€™s back, colder than ever, and probably regretting their life choices again. Expect sneaking, sniping, and the occasional panic shout.

Friday โ€“ Frostbite & Fur

The Long Dark โ€“ New Entry in A Voyageurโ€™s Tale
The Cold Chronicles continue with more frostbite, slightly less dignity, and whateverโ€™s left in my food stash.

Survivorโ€™s Short: The Moose Encounter
He saw me. I saw him. Only one of us had antlers โ€” and it wasnโ€™t me.

Plus: This Site Just Got A Bit Update

All entries for The Long Dark, Skyrim, and Day One Diaries have been turned into full posts (not pages!) so theyโ€™re easier to find, share, and follow.

Thanks for Reading โ€“ And Surviving

Survivorโ€™s Shorts Are Live โ€“ Because Chaos Deserves Its Own Page

Survivorโ€™s Shorts is now live! A new page on the blog featuring my funniest, strangest, and most disastrous survival momentsโ€”bite-sized stories, full-sized regret.

Sometimes a moment in a survival game doesnโ€™t need a full playthrough postโ€”it just needs a spotlight, a raised eyebrow, and maybe a bandage.

Thatโ€™s where Survivorโ€™s Shorts comes in.

Itโ€™s a new page on the blog dedicated to the little disasters. The sudden bear charges. The pancake heartbreaks. The moose lurking behind trees. All real stories from my permadeath runs, trimmed down and served with a side of sarcasm.

If youโ€™ve ever screamed when you meant to crouch or felt betrayed by a breakfast item, youโ€™ll feel right at home.

What You’ll Find There

The Pancake Betrayal โ€“ Found the recipe. Found the syrup. Got betrayed by Cooking Level 4.

There is more coming soon. But here is what to expect for ones that are being drafted:

The Wolf That Interrupted My Mapping Session โ€“ Cartography meets carnivore.

The Moose Behind the Tree โ€“ A 5% spawn rate that showed up at 100% volume.

The Doedicurus That Broke My Spirit โ€“ One spear. No hits. Lots of tail.

The One-Shot Wonder โ€“ A bear, a rifle, and a moment of absolute panicโ€ฆ that somehow worked.

And plenty more moments coming soon.

Check it Out Here:
