Crumbling Highway: The Shortcut That Might Kill You

Welcome to the Road That Forgot It Was a Road

Crumbling Highway feels less like a region and more like a warning. The asphalt is broken, structures are half-collapsed, and the path forward narrows just enough to remind you that this is a crossing, not a destination.

It connects Coastal Highway to Desolation Point, and that purpose defines it. There’s little reason to linger. Shelter options are limited. Wind cuts through the open sections. Wolves patrol the road and the collapsed buildings with predictable confidence.

The layout creates natural ambush points. Tight turns, ruined vehicles, broken walls — all of it reduces visibility at the wrong moments. You can see far ahead in some stretches, then suddenly not at all.

Resources exist, but they’re secondary. What matters here is pacing. Move deliberately. Avoid unnecessary detours. If weather turns or wildlife blocks your path, reassess quickly.

Crumbling Highway isn’t long, but it doesn’t need to be. It exists to test whether you’re ready for what waits in Desolation Point. Cross it with purpose, not curiosity.
