Survivor’s Dread
Documenting horror games with the survival instincts of a potato.
When something hunts back, the rules change.
Survivor’s Dread is where survival stops being environmental and starts being personal.
These are structured horror runs built around one principle: when a game introduces a relentless hunter, tension must be earned — and survival must be limited.
The Apex Predator Rule
The Apex Predator framework began as a way to survive Alien: Isolation. It evolved into a system for any game defined by a single unstoppable threat.
A fixed number of lethal encounters are allowed. When the strike limit is reached, the predator wins. No endless resets. No grinding safety.
The structure adapts. The principle does not: survival is limited. When the predator wins, the story ends.
