Revisiting the Games That Shaped a Lifetime of Gaming
Before the survival diaries, challenge runs, randomizers, and blog posts, there were the games that started it all.
The games that kept us up late. The games we talked about in the playground. The games we rented for a weekend and wished we could keep forever. The games that felt impossibly huge when we first picked up a controller.
Retro Reflections is where I revisit those games.
Sometimes they’ll be childhood favourites that still hold up decades later. Sometimes they’ll be games I haven’t touched since I was young. Sometimes they might even turn out to be less impressive than I remembered.
That’s part of the fun.
This isn’t a review section and it isn’t a nostalgia checklist. It’s a chance to look back at the games that helped shape my love of gaming and see how they feel today.
Some were played on the Master System. Some were played on the Mega Drive, Nintendo 64, Game Boy, PlayStation, or beyond. Different consoles, different generations, but all part of the same journey.
Without these games, Survivor Incognito probably wouldn’t exist.
