Welcome to Survivor’s Review
All survival game reviews in one place — listed alphabetically (numbers first) and published as pages so they stay evergreen. Each entry notes where I played it (Switch, Steam Deck, or both) and ends with a score that fits the game’s own brand of chaos. Expect Frozen Toes, Panic Attacks, Collapsed Bases, or whatever else makes sense in that world.
Reviews A–Z
- 7 Days to Die (Steam Deck)
Zombies, crafting chaos, and base collapses. Verdict: 4 Collapsed Bases out of 5.
- Alien: Isolation (Switch & Steam Deck)
Claustrophobic horror, terrifying AI, and portable panic attacks. Verdict: 4.5 Panic Attacks out of 5.
- Choo Choo Charles (Switch & Steam Deck)
Horror on rails with one very angry locomotive. Verdict: 4 Derailments out of 5.
- The Long Dark (Switch)
Cold, wolves, and soda that’s somehow still drinkable. Verdict: 4.5 Frozen Toes out of 5.
How I Review (AKA: The Method Behind the Mayhem)
- Handheld first: If it can’t hack the sofa or school run, it won’t hack this review.
- Survivor’s lens: Atmosphere, tension, resource strain, AI behaviour, and “did I hold my breath IRL?”
- Controls & comfort: Aiming, HUD readability, accessibility, and session fatigue on Switch/Deck.
- Chaos check: Fairness of permadeath moments, randomness, and recovery options.
- Replayability: Reasons to return after credits (or after a humiliating death).
- Verdict: Each game gets a short, plain-English score in line with its theme (e.g. Panic Attacks, Frozen Toes, Collapsed Bases).
